Leadership is Human Work

What excites me most about my work today is helping leaders meet moments they are rarely prepared for. Moments where the pressure is high, the path is unclear, and how they show up shapes what follows.
Over more than three decades in MedTech and healthcare, I have led commercial organizations across Fortune 500 companies, private equity-backed businesses, and venture-funded startups. I have launched pioneering technologies, rebuilt teams, managed businesses exceeding $500 million in revenue, and worked in highly regulated environments where decisions carry real consequences.
Looking back, I expected leadership to be about strategy, execution, and results.
It wasn't.
The greatest challenges were almost always human.
Along the way, I noticed something that kept repeating itself. Some leaders possessed extraordinary technical and commercial capability but struggled to build trust, adapt their style, or lead through uncertainty. Others built remarkable relationships but hesitated to create clarity, make difficult decisions, or hold people accountable.
Both were talented.
Both were capable.
Both eventually reached a ceiling.
That observation changed how I think about leadership.
I came to believe that leadership isn't simply about what we know. It's about who we can be when the moment requires it. The leaders who create the greatest impact are those who cultivate the conditions that allow leadership to emerge, for themselves and for others.
My own journey reinforced that belief. At two pivotal transitions in my executive career, I intentionally sought out executive coaching because I believed leadership deserved more than experience alone. Looking back, those decisions probably say more about what I believe than anything else I could write.
Today, through Starboard Tack Group, I partner with leaders at pivotal moments, especially during transitions when early behaviors shape trust, execution, and culture. My work is grounded in a simple belief: we activate the behaviors that create clarity, connection, and confidence. Those conditions allow leaders to make better choices, strengthen relationships, and create environments where people and organizations thrive.
I hold a Master's degree in Organizational Leadership, am an ICF-certified professional coach, and continue to work with leaders across healthcare, MedTech, and growth-oriented organizations.
Based in Connecticut, I work with clients throughout the United States, both virtually and in person.
The work I do today isn't about giving leaders answers. It's about helping them discover the awareness, perspective, and capacity to lead with greater intention.
Because when leaders grow, organizations do too.
